Meet Our Founder

We are thrilled to finally introduce you to our founder, Nichole Brown, the creative force behind The Brenda Productions.

Born in Kingston upon Thames to a working-class family, Nichole's journey into theatre has been one of passion, perseverance, and a deep commitment to telling authentic human stories. She started playwrighting at the age of 15, and this early interest in storytelling has shaped her approach to both writing and performance. A rising talent in the world of theatre, Nichole brings a fresh perspective and boundless creativity to every production. With a background in acting and playwrighting, Nichole honed her skills during her three years of study at Staffordshire University. Throughout her career, she has always been driven by a desire to explore and bring to life truthful, complex human stories. Her work focuses on illuminating the raw, emotional aspects of the human experience, creating authentic and relatable narratives that challenge conventions and spark meaningful conversations.

Nichole’s advocacy for PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) began after her diagnosis, leading her to create the page pmddunfiltered (originally youngand1in20), where she shares her journey with PMDD both pre and post-op. She is also a trained IAPMD workshop facilitator, empowering others who are navigating their own experiences with PMDD. Nichole’s story has resonated on a broader scale, featuring in national and international media, including BBC Newsbeat and Seen.TV. Her advocacy work has become an integral part of her mission to raise awareness and foster conversations about PMDD, mental health, and the complexities of living with chronic conditions.

Before embarking on her theatre career, Nichole spent 10 years pursuing ice skating as a hobby, a passion that taught her discipline, grace, and resilience—qualities she continues to carry into her creative work. She also has a talent for painting oil portraits, a skill that allows her to express another side of her creativity.

Currently residing in the West Midlands, Nichole is focused on her work as the founder of The Brenda Productions, where she is committed to crafting performances that not only entertain but also leave a lasting impact on audiences. Her work often delves into themes of mental health, identity, and societal expectations, blending authenticity, vulnerability, and humor in ways that are both innovative and deeply personal. Nichole’s aim is to create performances that resonate on a profound level, sparking open, reflective conversations.

When she's not on stage or working behind the scenes, you can find her training her dog Layla, diving into her collection of plays, or indulging in her love for interior design in The Sims 4 Build Mode—a hobby that lets her exercise her eye for detail in a virtual world.

Stay tuned—this is just the beginning! With each project, Nichole continues to push the boundaries of what theatre can achieve, and we are excited to see where her journey will take us next.
